My funny Valentine 

You indulge me. 

In my attempts to catch our sons in the act of jumping I ended up snagging only a few good ones of Jacek and none of Aidan.

I became frustrated.

So, you my funny valentine, tell me to go and do a few jumps and you will take the pictures.

 

Then you hand the camera back.

"Let me try", you say.

  

After the first shot you run back and we view the captured jump.

We marvel over the cuteness of Aidan because he is smiling even though we can't see his face.

You are not happy with that jump, my funny valentine.

"Aww, my head got cut off.  Let me try again."

  

This time the jump is awesome and I capture it.

We laugh and laugh (we sure can laugh) over the awesomeness of the jump but also in the captured nonchalant pose of our cat.

"You know how you stand and let Daddy jump over you?" You say to Jacek

"Here, stand here.  Daddy will jump over you."

And just like that my idea to capture the boys jumping has turned into a full on photo shoot of YOU, my funny valentine.

"Ok, ok I say, I think I've taken enough." 

"Ah, c'mon just a few more. I have an idea"  

You see, I just don't think you can help yourself.

So, I took a few more.

Being Jacek's Mommy and

are two very different things.

It took me awhile to realize that.

Your laugh is infectious

your smile lights the room

You are nothing like I expected

And I am so very, very proud.

My 1st glimpse into momminess

My heart had no idea

of many things

before you

shared them with me

I would stare at you for hours

if you'd let me

 but you ask me to stop.

So, I watch you when you're not looking

because I can't stop.

and I Never will.

 

 My little helper.

My picker upper.

My heart bump bumper.

The first years (4 already)

have gone by so fast.

You barely fit on to my lap.

but you still try

and I love the uncomfortable squish.

You are going to be an AMAZING man.

Amazing.

but you get to be my little boy first.

So slow done okay.

Just settle down with me for awhile.

and 

thank you.

because I know

You cuddle with me

even though it's not

what you want to do

but you know I love it

so you do.
