Sundays In My City

On Friday we went to the city of Batavia, which I just learned is the birthplace of western New York, 1802.
It's just up the road from where we live and I work there on the weekends.

We surprised Jacek with a tour of their fire department.  They surprised us with a full, hands-on experience.

We have piles and piles of gray snow.  It's kind of depressing.

They even drove Jacek around the parking lot in this fire truck!

As we were leaving I was trying to take some shots of the town's historic features but it was raining and chilly

Here's a couple..

Coffee Culture...off to the right...is the town's newest coffee shop

My lazy, too cold and rainy out, taken from INSIDE the van shot,
heading South out of the city
I'll be back to take more when it's warmer out.

Wow a Coffee Culture, that is a huge progressive change for Batavia. Next time can you take pictures of the 30MPH through rt 63 whereabouts policemen sit and try to get all the college kids driving thru to Geneseo (My friend got caught once and every other time I was tortured by that leg of the trip).

It looks cold, but the huge smile on the second pictures makes it all look worthwhile.

I used to live in Ohio and NY and remember the "dirty snow". It's the worst when all your want to see are the daffodils popping though. I hope spring is just around the corner for you.

Fun time at the fire station!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and thanks for sharing your City.

have a great week.

Major kudos to the fire department for their Hose-pitality! I'm sure it left lasting memories in his ever-growing little head!
